Advance Pallet’s story begins in 1996 with Advance Lumber Remanufacturing Ltd., founded by father and son Rajinder and Jaspinder Brar. The proudly Canadian owned, company began as a re-manufacturing operation focused on producing pallet cut stock—high-quality lumber components used by pallet builders across North America. Its early success came from supplying reliable, consistent material to customers in the United States and global markets, establishing a reputation for precision and service.
As demand grew at home, the family expanded by creating Advance Pallet and Crate Ltd. as a standalone division dedicated to the local market. This arm of the business supplied new pallets, recycled pallets, managed pallet pools, and custom crates, along with heat-treated export-grade solutions. While Advance Lumber continued marketing cut stock internationally, Advance Pallet and Crate took root in British Columbia, building strong relationships with local industries and stepping into full pallet pool management, offloading, storage, sorting, and distribution services.
From those early remanufacturing days to today’s large-scale operations in both BC and Alberta, the company has steadily grown into one of Western Canada’s most trusted wood-packaging providers. The Surrey facility now employs over 125 full-time staff, and the Alberta division—Advance Pallet and Lumber Ltd.—operates a 100,000 sq. ft. facility with 170 full-tiiime employees, supporting major logistics partners across the region. What began as a family venture has evolved into a multi-location leader known for reliability, innovation, and the long-standing values set by Rajinder Brar. The business continues to grow while staying grounded in its original commitment to quality and customer service.
